Perhaps one of the most forgotten maintenance items is the simple act of DEFRAGGING your hard drive. When you forget, then files get fragmented and scattered across the hard drive.
Imagine having to go to your closet for socks, your guest bedroom for pants, and the laundry room for a clean shirt.
